How long would it normally take a subway manager to call back for an interview after recieving an application?

I applied to a subway restaurant near my house on monday... i handed in the application to the manager personally and we discussed my hours working, any job experience and date available to start

he said he would call soon to schedule an interview, but its already sunday

how long does it take for a fast food restaurant owner to call back for an interview

does anyone know the process that happens during the time he's not calling back? does he call my references and prior bosses? does he call my school? does he go through the background check?

:( i really really want to work thereHow long would it normally take a subway manager to call back for an interview after recieving an application?
If he had an opening he might have hired you on-the-spot when you walked in. He only needs a few minutes to call a reference or to review your application. At a young age you don't have an extensive work history for him to check out.

Walk back in and ask if the opening has been filled. How long would it normally take a subway manager to call back for an interview after recieving an application?
If you haven't heard from him in a week, follow-up with a phone call or stop in to the restaurant. Show him your initiative.. It sound like you already had part of an interview, so I don't see why you shouldn't follow-up. Typically the process used to be that you check references after the interview. He could waste a lot of time calling on every applicant. But if he was interested in you it is possible he was checking those. He can't officially do a background check without your permission. Best bet is to go back and ask, that you are interested and follow-up are good qualities that would show well to him.
