Today is Friday, should I call back today to follow-up?When is the best day to follow-up to a job application?
If you just dropped in and applied, 2 weeks is a good follow-up time period. Just let them know you are still interested and ask if they need any more information. Don't push - they put the ad out and will be trying to find the best candidates. Your enthusiasm will help, but don't overdo it or it will seem fake. When is the best day to follow-up to a job application?
You got a lot of great tips already. As someone who used to be a hiring manager for a local retail store, I have a few more suggestions.
When you do call or stop in Subway, make sure it isn't when they are busy. This means avoid the breakfast, lunch, and dinner rush. For example, 2:30 might be the best time because it is in-between the lunch and dinner rush. Basically if you see a long line, go back later.
Was the job listed as being open or did you just submit your resume because you wanted to apply for Subway? If there was an actual job opening, I would call now since it has been two weeks. However, if you just submitted your application because you wanted to work at Subway, they might not having any open jobs right now. It wouldn't hurt to call or stop by, but know that in this situation it could take you weeks or even months before you get a call for an interview.
Good luck! When is the best day to follow-up to a job application?
You should have followed up with Subway a week later. That being said you should follow up as soon as possible now. The thing to remember is don't do it when they are real busy. The best times I have been told by some Subway managers is after the lunch rush so sometime around 2:00 PM or so. You will also want to confirm the hiring manager is going to be available to discuss the position. I hope this helps and wish you all the best. I'd follow up Tuesday. I never follow up Monday because Mondays are usually hectic, so Tuesday or Wednesday is good.
However, you applied for a company that does not close on weekends, so today would be fine.
