What kind of cheese is supposed to go on the Meatball Marinara sub from Subway?

I want it to be just like the one in this picture:

What kind of cheese is that? What kind of cheese is supposed to go on the Meatball Marinara sub from Subway?
It looks to me like Provolone. Parmesan or Romano would be good, but they are hard cheeses so they'd have to be grated. Mozarella is usually shredded. Provolone is traditional for meatballs and marinara sauce, and it's sliced, so that's probably it.

But I doubt Subway would use real Provolone. More likely they'd use some tasteless industrial mass-produced cheese-like substance that they can buy in great quantities, store frozen for months, and deliver all over the world. Real cheese, good cheese, doesn't suit their business model very well. What kind of cheese is supposed to go on the Meatball Marinara sub from Subway?
